Vero Beach, Florida

The Evangelical Lutheran Synod is an orthodox Lutheran church body based in Mankato, MN.  It is a descendant of the Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church of North America and was organized in 1918. 

The mission of the ELS is to proclaim "Jesus Christ and Him crucified" for the salvation of souls, and to preserve the teachings of God's Word in truth and purity.

The Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) confesses that the Bible is the Word of God and is without error. It is the only sure rule and guide for teaching in the church and for the individual Christian's life. 

The ELS is in fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. (WELS)

History of Grace

Lutheran Church

Grace Lutheran Church was founded in 1917.  It was the first Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.  The congregation is a member of  the Evangelical Lutheran Synod.  

Grace congregation has been worshiping at its present location on 41st Avenue since 1989, after selling its previous property to the city of Vero Beach for the public library.  In 2006, Gracie's Preschool was opened in the fellowship hall.  It moved to its new building in January 2008.
